On Friday 16th June 2017 the Broadway Cinema, Nottingham, had a screening of Paul Sng's new film Dispossession: The Great Social Housing Swindle. This feature documentary examines the catastrophic failures that have led to a chronic shortage of social housing in the UK. The film focuses on housing in London, Glasgow and Nottingham and garners the opinions of residents, politicians and experts in the housing industry.

The screening was followed by a Q&A session hosted by Daniela Scotece (POW Nottingham) with Paul Sng (Director), Luke Doonan (Executive Prodcuer), Lisa McKenzie ('Getting By' author), Chantal Lee (St Ann's resident and Labour candidate for Newark) and the Law Centre's very own Sally Denton.

This thought-provoking, moving and sometimes enraging film is a must-see. Further information about the film and screening times can be found here

As the film affirms, "housing is a human right, not an expensive luxury".
